History of BHL 缘起

Buddhist Hermitage Lunas was founded by the late Venerable Acara Suvanno Mahā Thero (1920 – 2007) following the Theravada Buddhist tradition as a centre to teach meditation to both monastics and lay people. Located at a former sand farm next to the Kulim river, the hermitage covers an area of 0.64 hectares / 1.58 acres. The nearest town – Lunas, in the state of Kedah, is one kilometer away from the hermitage.
